Automatic reefing

When the wind increases, the overly canvas vessel becomes difficult to control. In addition to the risk of breakage, the boat loses speed and leans more and more. It is then time to reduce the surface of the sails in order to expose them less to the wind. The Mainsail being the highest, we usually start with this one. This is called taking a reef. We will see in this video how to perform the maneuver with an automatic reefing system.
